Being away from home and especially away from your family, friends and beloved people in general, is a very hard task, especially when you are abroad. Nostalgia is a unique and an intriguing phenomenon. One the one hand, it can be positive, imbued with a rosy glow of familiarity and belongingness. Therefore, on the other hand, it can be fully accompanied by longing, loss, and frustrated desire. Nostalgia often melds both positive and negative experiences. Even though I have many friends here, friendly, polite and eager to help at anytime, the feeling of missing your friends who you know each other for over 10 years, is a very strong feeling. The real nostalgia that every one of us feel, is the family. The whole coronavirus topic which affects all the parts of the world, acts a barrier for my parent’s visiting. I couldn’t wait for them to come in the beautiful city of Glasgow, take a walk, have coffee and enjoy everything. Unfortunately, a lot of flying companies are cancelling every flight, which means my parents propably won’t visit me. However, through my life I have learned to stay strong and be patient in every hard aspect and obstacles. As long as my family and friends are safe back home, I can feel calm and happy. I can’t wait for the time to see my beloved people, and share my new experiences I have gathered from my life in the beautiful city of Glasgow.
